Hong Shen is a Chair Professor and the director of the Center for Higher Education Research in Southern University of Science and Technology. She is an elected Vice President of National Association of Economic of Education, and an expert of Shenzhen Decision-Making Committee. She was a Fulbright Scholar and the China-PI of international large projects of Changing Academic Profession(CAP) and Academic Profession In Knowledge Society(APIKS). She has been rewarded the Special Government Allowances of the State Council of China in 2004. She received her Ph.D (1997), Master (1991) and Bachelor (1982), she was promoted to be a professor (1999) and the 2nd ranked professor (2009), all from/in Huazhong University of Science & Technology. Her concentrations are mainly in Research University & New-Model Research University, Academic Profession & Faculty Evaluation, Undergraduates’ Higher Education Added-Value. She has supervised 98 doctoral and 66 master students since 1997. She has been rewarded 12 scientific awards and 6 distinguish doctoral dissertations supervision awards.
